Finishing Up In Guatemala!
We wanted to end our time in Guatemala with a bang. In our last few days we hung out in Antigua, revisited the famous market in Chichicastenango and hiked up Volcan Pacaya!
Completing A Long Circle!
After heading up north towards Coban from Antigua, we sadly missed out on what the locals call the “8th Wonder of the World”, but we did get to visit a coffee farm!
A Holy Figure & More Ruins
Did you know that one of the holiest Catholic relics sits in a little town in Guatemala’s Eastern Highlands. Oh yeah and one of the largest sets of Mayan ruins sits just over the border from it in Honduras!
Cruisin’ Down The Sweet River!
We took a stunning boat ride on Guatemala’s “sweet river” to Livingston, home of the Garifuna, a people whose culture is vastly different from other Guatemalans.
Crossing Two Borders & Back Into The Mayan World!
During our trip we saw several groups of Mayan ruins, but Tikal took the cake. Of course we had to take a day long bus ride out of Mexico and through Belize to get there.

A Change Of Plans In Mexico!
Having to take a five hour bus ride when you are sick can be unpleasant, but arriving at your destination to find it flooded forcing you back onto the bus for another three hours is torture! Of course this is how our adventure in the Yucatan started!

The Palenque Mayan ruins were incredible. On our tour we also got to stop at some amazing waterfalls and even took an opportunity to swim in a river!
