Southeast Asia Here We Come!
Have you ever spent the night in an airport after a long flight? Well I wish I could say we haven’t. Unfortunately, our start in Darwin wasn’t the most comfortable in the world.
Finishing Up In Queensland!
We spent our last few days in Queensland lying low in a motel room one block from the world famous beach on Australia’s Gold Coast. Once again the wet weather kept us inside.
Crikey!
Crikey the Australia Zoo is overpriced!!! Oh well, Steve Irwin’s zoo is fantastic even though you have to pay an arm and a leg for admission.
An Amazing Nighttime Experience!
The turtle hatchery at Mon Repos was an incredible surprise. Seeing baby turtles hatch from the sand and run out to the ocean for the first time is a wonderful spectacle of nature.
More BLAH On The Sunshine Coast!
The weather really kept us down while on the Sunshine Coast. We did manage to get out to the ocean once, but were stuck inside for the most part. Oh yah and Shawn Reece locking our keys in the car didn’t help either!

Australia’s Theme Park Capital!
We really enjoyed visiting Australia’s Gold Coast theme parks. It was a welcome change from the poor weather we had encountered and we even rode a couple of great roller coasters!
Heading Towards The Gold Coast!
I’m not going to lie to you, the weather in Queensland was rough. These two days were not among my favorites from our time in Australia, but what can you do!
Another Brisbantastic Day!
Despite horrible weather, we really enjoyed Brisbane. Even with cities like Sydney and Melbourne to contend with, Brisbane still stands up as one of the best cities in Australia in my opinion.

What can I say? It only took a few minutes for us to realize what a truly atmospheric city Brisbane is!

Newcastle turned out to be just the place we needed to get some rest, but after a few weeks we were ready to get back on the road!
